morninpaper.com

Just take off the "G" and the typepad and you're there!  We will be redirecting shortly, so until then, hit the link and join us!!!

Bit of a warning though, the new site is still a work in progress, so bare with us, and thanks for being there for us!!!!!

Barack moves a little bit closer!!

R2294668977 Barack Obama is about 200 delegates from making history as he as already secured North Carolina, and Yahoo had even stated that Hillary had already won Indiana, with only 70% of the vote in, but now it is being called too close to call. The interesting point about all of these candidates is that none of them can relate to the average person financially as their wealth truly separates them. Each of them have strengths and weaknesses and with our country being in a terrible recession, we can thank the retarded son for that, race, gender, and age are no longer issues for what is considered a "Perfect prototype President." The economy, healthcare, the war/foreign policy, immigration, and Homeland Security are some of the more "hotbutton" topics and one way or another, one of these eventual winners had better come up with some realistic solutions, or this will be one of the quickest terms in history. Palm Treo 800w set to launch July 22, 2008

Treo800w According to WMExperts, Sprint will be releasing the long-rumored Treo 800w on July 22 of this year.  This announcement comes after many months of speculation and a plethora of rumors around the web.

If the specs turn out to be accurate, this will definitely be a sweet device, and by far the best Treo yet.  This new device will replace the aging 700wx.  Once again,  Verizon has missed the boat on a new launch of a smartphone....sigh.

Here are highlighted the specs:

  • Threaded SMS (looks to be the Palm type, not Microsoft's)
  • WM 6.1
  • Autonomous GPS
  • KB is larger than the Centro, slightly smaller than the 750/755
  • KB keys still light up
  • It's very fast with no lag
  • 320x320 resolution
  • EvDO Rev A (though some tester units are not Rev A active as of now)
  • Wifi
  • 256/128 Memory
  • Official color: Charcoal Black

What T-Mobile Buying Sprint!!!

Sprint_logo_2 Tmobilelogo Remember a while back I posted a message about the inevitable future of Sprint. Well, you may see T-Mobile buying the fledling wireless carrier very soon. I doubt the Nextel piece will be spun off but you never know. Maybe former CEO Tim Donahue wants his company back. Especially after all the Sprint management BOZO's ran the place inot the ground.  Of course it is all speculation but when the stock starts going up that usually means some truth the rumors. There really isn't any other reason for the stock to rise since all Spint' s customers are leaving.  Stay tuned!

Pics Of The Gigantic Squid

1_squid_461

Unfortunately, the photos that have been taken of the Gigantic Squid that was "caught"  off the coast of Antarctica in February 2007, don't give a good perspective on how huge this thing really is.

You may remember I posted the other day about it's 11 inch eye.  Although the pics are sharp and give a good look at the beast, they don't demonstrate it's full 26 foot glory.

So, as you check the pics, think of it this way.  Clone Shaq, and put the second one on the 1st Shaq's shoulders.  Then hoist Mini-Me up onto the 2nd Shaq's shoulders and imagine something like that with two 11 inch eyeballs coming at you.

Poll: Will A Blackberry Clamshell Be The End Of Palm?

Blackberrykickstart3

This game changer that looks to be introduced to the world by T-Mobile possibly by September 08 is without a doubt going to be a HUGE hit.  It's got WiFi, and the whole Blackberry deal on a flip phone.

The second coming of the iPhone will be 3G and boast a new look and new apps.  There will be a lot happening in the mobile world over the next five months, while Palm has introduced nothing.  Yeah, there's a new Treo out there, but no one really cares.  A new WM Treo is not going to make the earth shatter anywhere.

But this "KickStart" has already made a few buildings tumble.  So here's a little something to consider over the weekend.

Will the Blackberry KickStart be the end of Palm?   Take the Poll in the Sidebar.  We'll talk results Monday.

More Blackberry "KickStart" Info & Photos

Blackberrykickstart4

This one continues to amaze and perplex.  Where did it come from and how did one guy get all that darn info on such a valuable prize?  No matter, what's important here is that this thing is real and it's going to kick some serious butt when it hits the streets, and it looks as though it may hit the streets via T-Mobile first.

Specs as laid out:

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
"Next Gen" SureType keyboard
2 Megapixel camera
16-bit color LCDs
Internal LCD is 320×240, external one is 160×128
Wi-Fi b,g
3.5mm headset jack
OS is 4.6

Yes, I think that's "WiFi" on a fliphone.

India Tells RIM "NO" Again

Indiablackberry

The IB, India’s Intelligence Bureau has squashed a proposal by RIM to that would decompress Blackberry information sent to non-Blackberry devices.

"RIM had offered this solution because, data on RIM network flows with the 256-bit advanced encryption standard, but India’s security agencies can intercept only 40-bit encryption. Intelligence agencies however justified the move to reject the RIM offer on the grounds that this would amount to breach of privacy: “The proposal was not agreed to by the IB as this leaks the information regarding the person whose information is being intercepted,” the DoT said in a communication to the Canadian High Commission in India. " --- IndiaTimes -

And it continues on in India.

New 3G iPhone Photos Hit The Web!

Iphonenextgenfr

Well it looks as though we have our first leaked images of the new 3G enabled second coming of the iPhone.  Via Engadget who got the pics from a French blog, who got the pics from a unnamed source, we see images of what is hard to discount as real, even given Apples tight security.  (Leave it to the French to find a way).

At the moment, I don't like it but it will most likely grow on me.

Google Updates And Integrates Apps For The iPhone

Gmail_77702a_en

I'm always amazed when Google spends time updated and working on products for the iPhone. When Android hits the street it will be in a heavy fight with the iPhone, or maybe they simply feel their coming product will be so superior that they are in no way worried.

What ever the case, until then Google has updated the interface for Google Apps on the iPhone.

"Gmail – To run Gmail as a fast web application, visit mail.google.com/a/your-domain.com in Safari on your iPhone, but remember to replace "your-domain.com" in this address with your actual domain name.

Alternatively, you can connect to your Gmail account with your iPhone's Mail application, using IMAP for free.

Google Calendar – To run Google Calendar as a fast web application, visit calendar.google.com/a/your-domain.com in Safari on your iPhone, but remember to replace "your-domain.com" in this address with your actual domain name.

Google Docs – To run Google Docs as a fast web application, visit docs.google.com/a/your-domain.com in Safari on your iPhone, but remember to replace "your-domain.com" in this address with your actual domain name."

Update: Mozilla’s Thunderbird 2 email -2.0.0.14

Img_5609_thunderbird_450x360

Mozilla has released an update to their Thunderbird 2 email client.  2.0.0.14 is the new build for those who are using the, well I'll just say it, obscure email.

But if you're in obscurity then you'll want to upload to take care of some memory leaks causing crashes.

"Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. Our goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language. Our intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla Firebird (or another stand alone browser) as their primary browser and wants a mail client based on mozilla that "plays nice" with the browser. In addition, by focusing solely on stand alone mail, we believe we can make some dents in the overall footprint and performance of the mail client by removing components and chrome we don't need. On top of that, the UI becomes much cleaner as a stand alone application as opposed to being part of the mozilla suite.

In addition to the feature set found in Mozilla Mail, Thunderbird has several new features and improvements to make your mail and new experience better. Highlights include:
The ability to customize your toolbars the way you want them. Choose View / Toolbars / Customize inside any window.
UI extensions can be added to Mozilla Thunderbird to customize your experiene with specific features and enchancements that you need. Support for extensions. Extensions allow you to add features particular to your needs such as offline mail support. A full list of available extensions can be found here.
A new look and feel. Thunderbird also supports a large number of downloadable themes which alter the appearance of the client.
An addressing sidebar for mail compose which makes it easy and convient to add address book contacts to emails.
Online help includes a FAQ, tips and tricks and other useful information.
Simplified preferences UI and menus.
Footprint and performance improvements.

What's new in this version:
MFSA 2008-15 Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (rv:1.8.1.13)
MFSA 2008-14 JavaScript privilege escalation and arbitrary code execution

Operating System Requirements:
This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:
Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
Mac OS X 10.3.9
Mac OS X 10.3
Mac OS X 10.2"

Clinton Advisor Calls Indianans "Worthless-Racial Slur"

Watch this video, and then tell talk about how the media is against Hilary, because if this was someone in Obama's camp, you wouldn't be able to get away from it on your television.  If anyone cares to, go to MSNBC and ask them why this hasn't even been mentioned.  Oh, and yes, that's George Stephanopoulos, the guy who got the right to grill Obama with moronic questions at the debate. If you're curious as to why this is supposed to matter since it happened in the 90's, ask George Stephanopoulos, because he was really interested in a guy from the 60's that Obama didn't even know until the 90's.

Blackberry Lights Out This Weekend

Bbblackout

All Blackberry users should be aware that there could be another Blackout coming our way.  This is another planned blackout, but a blackout all the same.  This stuff blows, they really need to find another way to update the system.  Shouting down everyones internet service is just plain weak.

Anyway, Saturday at between 2am - 6am EST, you will most likely lose your precious service so get all your mobile surfing done early.

Skinner for Treo - 4.4

Skinsphp

It's been awhile since we've heard from 79bmedia and Skinner.  That bit of silence is over with a this update to Skinner 4.4.  The update brings AT&T GSM and European users into the fold.

There have also been a few new skins added.  I like this one for the 680.  Don't forget to check out the Splash screens too.  Start your Palm with something other than your service providers name.

AppleTV Delivers The DVD's Too

Appletvmoviepurchase601

It wasn't enough for Apple to allow you to get your DVD's on the same day they are released through iTunes.  Nope, they had to go and also offer it on AppleTV.  Without telling anybody.

Yes we can!  Now owners of AppleTV can purchase same day releases from the comfort of their couch and remote control.  Even watch trailers, try that at Target.

Yep. pretty soon nothing will be tangible.

Hilary Clinton: Rich People, God Bless Us!

Hilary

Here we have a classic slip of the tongue, but how much does it matter?  At this point we are on the road right back to 2000, and 2004.  Politicians who are so obviously far far removed from everyday Americans can make them believe they are one of them.   She has been in politics for the bulk of her adult life, has $109 million dollars, is a flat out liar,  and her husband sullied the office enough that pure trash could get in and get comfortable afterwards.

She voted for a war she says she hates, loved NAFTA before she hated it and was born in at last count three different states.  But you keep it up America!  Keep voting for Bush's and Clinton's because they're good at being Politians.  It's doing our country a world of good.

Use Of Safari Jumps On On Windows! Designers Rejoice!

Safariwindows0

0.21% is the jump that Safari on Windows has made since it went from 3.0 to 3.0.1 says Net Applications, a browser and OS tracking company.  More and more Windows users are giving the browser from Apple a try, especially since it force fed itself onto them via iTunes.  But however they try it, they're trying it and apparently a growing number of users are liking it.

This is great news for Apple and for any web designer.  I myself in the last two weeks have discovered how painful IE7 really is.  On another site in development, the site looks and preforms beautifully in Safari and just about every other browser than IE7.  IE7 is the only one that completely messes everything up.  The IE8 Beta even does a better job at rendering.  After reading page after page and forum after forum, I quickly found out that I'm not the only one who wishes everyone would stop using the lousy browser.  And that's not just coming from a Apple fanboy, the bulk of which are PC users.

Anyway, this is a good sign that more and more PC users are moving away from IE7 and trying out other browsers, Safari being one of them.

Free iPhone WiFi At Starbucks And Barnes and Noble?

Attiphone

How long will this last?  It seems that there are reports of free WiFi for those with a iPhone in their left hand, and a double tall latte in the right.   As you can see from the pic, at&t has a "number" input screen that will allow you to connect to a Starbucks or Barnes and Noble hotspot for free.

I doubt that it will be free for too much longer, and if so, Starbucks is going to look awefully weird in the next coming weeks.  There will be tons of iPhone users glued to their screens and wired at the same time.

A bad combination.

Blamestorming: Microsoft Board Indecisive, Yahoo Still Yahoo

Bill_gates

This just gets more and more silly with each passing day.  The WallStreetJournal Online reports that the MS Board meet and did nothing more than show off each others business card stock.

The MS board could not reach a conclusion as to which way to go.  Should we just take em with insider operatives?  Or should we simply gather up and head on out?

As I said before, I believe this thing is going to reach a very quiet end.  Microsoft will walk away from this bad idea, softly and and with the new checks they ordered unopened.
