A video posted last month on YouTube showing the slaying of former Roman Catholic priest John Geoghan in a prison cell at Souza-Baranowski maximum security prison in August 2003, has left authorities baffled at how it surfaced on the popular video sight.
The 10 min surveillance video is shot from outside the cell, showing 5 guards struggling to enter where inside Geoghan was being strangled by convicted killer Joseph Druce.
A note from the killer himself along with the link to the video on YouTube showed up at The Boston Herald:
"The truth about officers allowing J.G. to die through their neglect. Let the truth be know (sic)." Signed Joseph Druce, the murderer.
Inmates do not have internet access leaving Department of Correction officials struggling to find how Druce obtained the internal security video to begin with and was able to post it. (Note: the video itself was posted from user name: josephdruce).
Druce also made a re-enactment video for The Boston Herald of Geoghan's murder where he depicts how he strangled him with a pair of socks, climbed up onto his cot and repeatedly jumped off on to the convicted pedophile's body to crush it (Note in the YouTube video the guards all gloving up, meaning it's a very messy crime scene).
68 year old John Geoghan was convicted of groping a 10 year old boy and was serving a 9-10 year sentence. However, he is believed to have molested over 150 children. Instead of being removed from his parish by the Boston Archdiocese, his crimes were covered up and he was moved to another district. His case fueled the investigation into the worldwide clergy sex abuse scandal.
