I continually get asked diet questions about whether or not protein bars and shakes are good or bad.
Bars are
very tricky to find where they actually taste good and have low sugar.
What you DO NOT WANT is the "low carb" bars with sugar alcohols or
other sweeteners. Make sure any sugar free drinks you may be intaking are free from this
as well. Often times companies remove the sugar and replace it with an
even more health threatening chemical such as aspartame, Splenda, NutraSweet, etc.
What happens when you
ingest the above is that some of them turn to formaldehyde in your
stomach and others are simply carcinogens(cancer causing chemical agents). All
of them are estrogenic which will increase estrogen in your body which
in turn increases estrogen in your body, suppresses testosterone, increases fat deposits, and water retention. In women too much estrogen is very
bad. If you wold like further info on this let me know and I will

Essentially your best road is to eat and drink as close to nature as possible.
If man made it don't ingest it.
Try to not eat anything processed in any way, shape, or form. Eat as clean as you can.
What that means is this:
I'm sure you've heard of the little Hollywood trivia game about how many
degrees it takes to get to Kevin Bacon's film characters. If not what that entails is
that you know someone who knows someone who may know someone and on
down the chain until we get to Kevin Bacon. The game is that there are
fewer degrees of separation between most actors and Kevin
Bacon.
Why did I just tell you
that you are probably wondering? :) Because the analogy is a good one
for eating. Try to keep the degrees of separation to nature at a
minimum. Think about all the food you eat on a regular basis and what
steps it would actually take to get back to their raw nature
counterparts. If you have many- stop eating or drinking it. If you
have chemically altered, processed, or treated anything- do your best
to eliminate it from your body.
If you begin to do this in
your diet you will clean up and naturally detoxify your body in a major way with good nutritious food and
before you know it experience tremendous results.
