The Palm Gandolf Will Help Palm.

Gandolf
Palmwindowsmobilegandolf First, for those who continue to insist that we sat around and found parts from other devices and created a photoshop image just for the hell of it, we would like to thank you! Because we had no idea that we were that powerful! Because after we allegedly thought, "hey let's gather parts from other devices and photoshop them for the hell of it, some guy had the right materials and BUILT IT a few hours after our post! Man this guy is fast and good! Maybe we should photoshop a pic depicting WORLD PEACE and see how that works out! Better yet, why don't we all do our own pics of the devices we want! Apparently this guy can build it in an hour or so, right out from our imaginations. Who needs Palm? The photo is the photo, we DID NOT touch it, we simply posted it. But we will be right here to graciously accept apologies later on this year. Moving on...

The Gandolf! Whatever the color of the finished device in CDMA or WM, I think it will sell, and I think it will sell well. I'm not the biggest fan of this form factor but the more I look at it the more I see it having a place in the Palm line-up. The Price is definitely right! There are a lot of ugly phones out there, I think the PPC6800 is hideous, but folks can't wait for the Sprint version. I also think this is a good idea for Palm, change it up, shake it up, something different. The screen is no smaller than the Moto Q and folks buy that thing. And this is where I believe Palm is going with this device. They want to reach that crowd that purchases the Q or the Pearl and really don't need all the power and functions of a Treo. I also Have a feeling that this device will rely heavily on messaging since they are aiming it toward youth, whatever that means.

As you may or may not know, I have no problem getting harsh with Palm. No problem at all. I think Palm fans or fans of any product company should voice their opinions if they think the company is going down the wrong path. We are the ones that keep them in business since we buy the product. But I actually think The Gandolf is a step in the right direction, and will be a hit. And for a host of reasons, I'm looking foward to it!

I think you are correct. I do not know the specs of this thing, but the keyboard looks very nice.

I personally would consider purchasing this, but for one thing.....Garnet OS 5. This particular operating system is past its prime.

Other than that, I think that they are trying to combat the gale force winds that are upon them right now and presumably will get worse on June 29th.

They have a good team on board and I am happy to see that they have not given up. I think that it is only a matter of time before they really create the unifying device that we have all been waiting for.

LDD.

I am looking forward to this series of devices; it will open opportunities to sell my co-workers on them!

I think it looks allright. Sorta reminds me of the T-Mobile Dash, sorta.

I don't get the reason people are bashing it. I don't need an uber chic phone, just something that works without breaking the bank. Sheesh, that shouldn't be hard and it would be nice to see Palm reach that market segment.

If it runs Windows Mobile and they decide to throw in WiFi, I'm there. Even if there is no WiFi and at the price you say, I'm still there.
