just wondering if you will be able to send and recieve picture mail with this phone, and when is sprint going to support it with thier pda phones?

Richard, you may know that with Sprint, your pics go online and you have to retrieve them by going online. I will look into the Slider being able to do this without going online, but I doubt it, on Sprint anyway.
Stay tuned I'll get an answer for you.

This would be a great Christmaas gift for my text messaging queen (over 3000 a month)daughter. She has been begging me to go to T-Mobile (horrible service) so she can get a side kick. When will this be available and how much will is cost.

Kelly, there has been no official word yet for the price point. But it is considered a "low tier" device, so we're thinking most likely $79 with after rebate. Same with availability, Q4, so somewhere between Oct, Dec.
Stay tuned because we will definitely announce when Sprint does.

Will this phone be windows mobile based? Or will it have some sort of email application installed? I am thinking of coming from a blackberry to this phone, so I need push email for m coporate accounts.

The OS is still out on this one, but for anyone interested in all the info to date, follow this link: http://developer.sprint.com/view_devices.do?device=79227#
Kelli, you know what you need most, but I wouldn't count on this being a worthy corporate phone.

"49.99" price point believe it or not but i heard this today sept 20 from a very reliable source and if he is correct i will be getting one.

If that turns out to be the case, which I think is doubtful, everyone of legal age will get one for the hell of it.

Names Terence and I am a Manager for Sprint, by the way, I just got the new mail-in rebate forms, the LG Rumor will not be $49.99 because it has a $50 mail in rebate... sprint doesn't do that

Didn't think it would, but thanks for the info Terence! Any info you have, please feel free to email me!

I am upgrading my phone/contract pretty soon here. I went down to sprint on Wednesday and they said it would be coming out sometime in the end of October/November.

Will it be in different colors other than black???
Posted by: tracis | October 08, 2007 at 09:17 AM
Yes, word is there are a few colors, white being one of them.

As for the picture mail thing on pdas... all pdas have picturemail.. except for blackberrys cause theirs no camera, and windows mobile devices, the windows software does not support it, so no picturemail or sprint tv any time in the near future for WM 5.0 or 6.0

The phone will run $80 after full rebates. First Launch is at the middle/end of October.

this phone is basically the lg env but when u go to the qwerty keyboard there is no screen exept the top one. does the picture on the screen change direction so when you are using the keyboard you can read it clearly instead of having to read it sideways?
Posted by: Aaron | October 23, 2007 at 03:44 PM
Aaron, yes it does.

not rumor related, but what do you think about the mogul
Posted by: richard | October 25, 2007 at 06:58 PM
Richard, hard to say, I'm not a WM or Windows guy, don't like the platforms at all. But I had a chance to play with the Mogul and if you're a WM fan, you'll like it. A blackberry lovin friend of mine loved it, if it were not for the platform he would have bought it. It's a nice device, good form factor, the little bit of time spent, it seemed stable. Not sure if that helps at all.

The LG Rumor is available now online. After all the rebates the cost is $79.99. But MPaper, what do you really think of the phone? Is it worth it? I want to get this phone but I also like my Katana but it is very time consuming texting on it. Please let me know what you think about it.
Thanks

Hi Karen, I'm hoping to have one by next Tuesday to play with but I can tell you now that texting on any Qwerty will be better than the Katana. Right now the few reviews have been pretty good, but one small drawback, you can't take advantage of the EVDO speeds. Question: I am playing with a Centro right now and will be reviewing it next week. Would you be interested in the $99 Palm? You get EVDO, Qwerty keyboard and a bit more processing power. Plus the added benefit of tons of third party apps. $20 more bucks and you'll get a lot more, even though the Rumor is better looking.

I have the LG Rumor for over a week now and love it. It is easy to use and reception is great. I am glad it does not have the bells and whistles and it is just a phone with a little extras. Much better than I thought because I only was a flip phone person and this is so much better. This phone rocks. The only thing I do not like about it, which is very basic, is that I can not put a strap on it and I can not find a decent case for it as of yet, other than that this is a great phone.
