I have a sanyo rl-4930 that has served me more than well for over 2 years. There are a few features I love about my phone.
--I have stored over 400 numbers on it
--It is not a flip phone and it is quite durable
--It has a stop watch (you would be surprised how many uses I have for that)
--Text messaging
--Calculator
--calender and mini planner
--Voice Recorder

Must haves are the phone storage capacity and text messaging. I like this LG phone because it has the 2 things my phone lacks: a qwerty keyboard and bluetooth. The question is how man numbers can it store? I think this phone can be for me if it meets the 3rd thing I need.

Have a rumor and I love it . It is so much better then most of the other phones I seen for texting and it wasn't that expensive and I didn't get new service ot upgrade I paid full price. and It was cheaper than the piece of crap samsung A640 I paid almost 300.00 for last year and it was nothing but problems all the time I love my new phone

Shorty

I'm getting an upgrade very soon, and thinking about getting the LG Rumor. I currently have da sanyo 2300. this phone allows me to send text messages without having to delete any for storage. 1.Does this phone automatically delete the old text messages for new incoming text or do i have to delete for space. 2. Does this phone have a feature that allows me to put call reject on just one person/persons in my phone book? and 3.Can i send and receive picture text messages without it going through the internet??

Mpaper

Hey Swirb, glad you like it, I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but I will soon. In the meantime "shorty" has a few good questions. Maybe you could help shine some light?

Thanks!

jonny

should i get the LG Rumor or the LG Musiq?

Mpaper

Jonny, that all depends on your needs. The Rumor is a much more capable device though. Although not by much.

jonny

how is it more capable?

Mpaper

Jonny, here is a link to one of the stories in which we covered the Musiq.
http://morningpaper.typepad.com/morning_paper/2007/06/great-news-the-.html
The Musiq is basically a phone to play your MP3's. If that's all you want, then that might be a good way to go for you.

The Rumor is set up for messaging. It has a slide out QWERTY keyboard for easy text, emailing and typing out those long URL's. The screen is larger so your surfing will be a much better experience. It also plays MP3's with the same amount of storage space as the Musiq.

But as I said, it all depends on what you need most in a low priced device. For a few bucks more you can get a Palm Centro and get a whole lot more than either of these devices. Check the Palm Category if your interested.

jonny

k thnx i think im going 2 get a palm centro

Darion

I was just wondering with this phone can u record things and thens et them as Ringtones? That would make this phone perfect for me.

k@tie

with one is better the lg enV or the lg rumor??

Mpaper

Holy Crap!!! Darion, K@tie, I just realized I didn't respond to these, so sorry. Darion, yes, but as far as I know, you are limited to the Sprint Ringtones that can be purchased from the Sprint store.

K@tie, sorry I can't answer your question, maybe another reader can. But I will say this, A lot of folks seem to really like the Rumor.

But to both of you, it has been placed on the disabled list, there's a bug that LG is fixing. Stay tune if you're still interested in this phone. I'll let you know when it's safe to get back into the pool.

shitface

is there gunna be a rumor 2?

Ricky

The rumor is more for someone who enjoys textin while the musiq has the full multimedia with its evdo 3 g service. So the musiq gets
-sprint over the air music
-sprint tv
-on demand
-and everything else
The rumor gets
-music application
-qwerty keyboard
-standard stuff
but no sprint tv, on demand, or over the air music store
