Last week I told you about AOL bringing its Desktop love to Mac. There has been an update to address a few issues with the first release, so if you've had a few problems you might want to check out the updated version.
"AOL® is back on the Mac® with a brand new release that's been built specifically with Mac users in mind. The AOL Mac team is pleased to announce a special "Sneak Peek" of the new AOL Desktop for Mac. This preview release is available for all Tiger® and Leopard® users (10.4.8 or higher).
AOL Desktop for Mac will coexist with AOL for Mac OS X, so there is no need to uninstall the old software in order to check it out. And it won't overwrite your personal file cabinets or stored data. The best part, this free new software was developed by Mac users, for Mac users, from the ground up. Your Mac makes your life easy. Make it even easier with the new AOL Desktop for Mac. Highlights include:
Speed: Installs in seconds and launches fast - so you can begin browsing immediately, without signing in.
Tabbed Organization: Tabs on browser and IM give you easy access and an uncluttered, organized view for all of your windows.
More Email Options: Streamlined AOL Mail lets you send and receive messages using multiple email accounts, including Apple .Mac, GMail, Verizon and many more, in the same window.
AIM Integration: AIM is built right in so you can see which buddies are online, chat and more.
Security: Access AOL Parental Controls to keep you, your family, and your PC safer online at no additional charge.
Customization: Highly customizable toolbar makes it easy to keep your favorites right at your fingertips with access to them on any Internet-connected computer.
