The Jimi Hendrix Sex Tape

Jimihendrix

anyone who knows anything about Jimi, knows that he had an intense love of Guitar, Drugs and Sex.  And yes, in that order.  So the fact that there is a new sex tape really isn't all that shocking.  In fact it's not shocking at all.

What is a bit shocking is the fact that this is in the news.  But then again, here I am writing about it.  Cynthia Plaster Caster, the woman who made the cast of Jimi's ....Uh, how should I say it?..... Guitar neck, has confirmed that the head banded fornicator is indeed Jimi in between two Brunettes.

Vivid Entertainment has bought the rights to the unearthed porn and will be releasing it on DVD.  Make no "bones" about it, this will be a "huge" hit.  (read up on the life of Hendrix, you'll get my quotes).

Yep, in a world where absolutely nothing is sacred any longer, Jimi will soon go from Legendary Guitar God, to just another celebrity having sex.

Social Networking Goes Social Security! GetBack Media Goes Live

RetroMinute

Wilt Chamberlain hits 30,000 points • John Lennon gets his work visa • Roger Daltrey turns 28 • The Carol Burnett Show is on TV."

TVLand turned Social Networking hits your Internet Browser today.  GetBack Media is launching their "Your Butt is Old" social networking site.  The site will host TV clips, guys saying phrases that aren't worth saying, and constant reminders of how old you are.

But, I actually think out of the hundreds of useless Social Networking sites out there now, this one is going to do pretty good.  It really doesn't matter how old you are, everybody likes the 60's and 70's, and a good deal of young folk prefer the long gone decades.

The site will be targeting the 35 and up crowd, but I'm willing to bet they get hit with the 18 to 25 groups much harder than they think.   Anybody from the era's while find the site fun for about a week, mainly because everything offered is sitting right there on your desk.

But having said that,  this is a pretty darn good idea, I think it will have legs.

Take a look

Bruce Springsteen Endorses Barack Obama

Brucenewsimage

Fresh off his campaign trip with John Kerry, Bruce Springsteen is keeping in good with his Democratic virtues.  The Boss has announced that he is behind the senator from Chi-town, Barack Obama.

In his words:

"Dear Friends and Fans:

LIke most of you, I've been following the campaign and I have now seen and heard enough to know where I stand. Senator Obama, in my view, is head and shoulders above the rest.

He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next President. He speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music for the past 35 years, a generous nation with a citizenry willing to tackle nuanced and complex problems, a country that's interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit. A place where "...nobody crowds you, and nobody goes it alone."

At the moment, critics have tried to diminish Senator Obama through the exaggeration of certain of his comments and relationships. While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision, so well described in his excellent book, Dreams From My Father, often in order to distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our Constitution, and the protection and enhancement of our environment.

After the terrible damage done over the past eight years, a great American reclamation project needs to be undertaken. I believe that Senator Obama is the best candidate to lead that project and to lead us into the 21st Century with a renewed sense of moral purpose and of ourselves as Americans.

Over here on E Street, we're proud to support Obama for President."

Now it will be a street fight between an old queen and a common man.  If you didn't get that, Elton John is supporting Hilary Clinton.

I'm sure the New Jersey rocker's endorsement comes with big smiles for the Obama campaign, but I bet they're wondering where he was when they were campaigning in state.

Oasis Says Hip Hop Is Wrong!

20070215_oasis  I'm in no way a fan of Oasis, but I did find this pretty funny.  Speaking about the upcoming line-up at this years Glastonbury, the UK's yearly "Woodstock", Oasis Guitarist Noel Gallagher lashed out over the decision to put Jay-z on the line-up.

"If it ain't broke don't fix it.  If you start to break it then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance.
Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?'

I don't know about it. But I'm not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."

Ticket sales have slumped a bit for this years festivities and some believe that the infusion of acts like "Kylie Minogue and Jay-Z" are the reason.

Promoters aren't too happy with Gallagher's comment and are defending the line-up adding that "Jay-Z was a "great crowd puller".

It would seem that American Political speak sneaks into all aspects because umm, this festival usually sells out within hours of sales announcements.  So far only a 100,000 tickets have been sold.

Rappers Not Delightful, 50 Cent Sued For Gansta Life

Myspaceattaqueparuniversalmusic1  This one is a long time coming.  I'm surprised that it took this long for something like this to happen to the music industry, but mainly Rap.

A 14 year-old boy has sued Universal Music Group and 50 cent for promoting a "gangsta lifestyle".  The boy is seeking damages from the rapper, the company and all of its labels because friends of 50 assaulted him.

James Rosemond says with his mother, that 50 and the labels endorse and promote violence which is why he was assaulted by 50's crew.

James was assaulted because he was wearing a T-Shirt that promoted an ex-member of 50's crew and blah, blah, blah.  If you break this down to its basic, this kid is suing because he knows he got beat up to put 50 and his crew back into the limelight so everyone can see he and his crew are still hard.

I have never been a big fan of rap.  But back when it was trying to say something, and or was about having a good time on a non violent non drug induced level, it was cool and had it's place.  But when it turned to kill, degrade women and all the rest, I checked out.  As a musician, I am completely amazed that it's still around, but I can see the writing on the wall finally.  And when record companies start getting sued by kids because grown men beat them up for wearing a T-Shirt, that turns into liability they don't want or need.

At long last we are now marching toward the grave site with a headstone that reads "Gansta Rap, RIP"  The RIP part will be added as a touch irony.

Has The World Gone Mad!! Mariah Carey Passes Elvis?

E4a3d84fa2c445ca897211e102b1ab4a  I put this one under the category "Music" with much reservation, really, it pains me to no end.  But something rather dastardly has happened to the history of Rock & Roll.

Someone who's contribution will not be remembered for anything significant 20 years from now has passed an icon with most chart topping hits.  Yes, that's right, I said it, I went there.

For me, this means I officially do not understand anything anymore.

"I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world," Carey told The Associated Press on Tuesday via phone from London. "That's a completely different era and time ... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."

This means she has even more "Chart Topping" hits than Micheal Jackson, who love him or hate him personally, has a catalog that most of which can be cited by anyone in any age group.

But I will give her props on making that statement.  But what's up with this people?  Do you really like this inane meaningless pop garbage this much?  So much so that you're about to let Mariah Carey over take the Beatles?

Simon Cowell sports a Bugatti Veyron

Simon I'm not proud to admit it, but I actually enjoy watching American Idol.  Truthfully, I despise most Pop music.  I'm a ROCKER...HEY HEY HEY!  Anyway...sorry...lost it for a second. ;)

Simon Cowell, who is the British judge on the show who everyone loves to hate, but has a great eye and ear for talent, is the owner of a Bugatti Veyron.  Is that not a sweet ride?!   According to the article, the German-built car is the fastest production car in the world with a top speed of 253 MPH.

He reportedly paid $1.5 million dollars for the beauty. Um....the car, not the other beauty to his right in the photo.Simon_car_2

Top 10 mp3 Players according to PC World

Ipodtouch PC World has a nice rundown of their top 10 mp3 players.  If you're in the market for an mp3 player or want to upgrade, before going shopping, have a look at this list.  It will give you some good comparisons of popular models, as well as prices and places on the web to get the best price.

I still like the new Sandisk Sansa Fuze, but it's not on this list.  I would assume it's still too new to have been  reviewed.

Get yourself Some Cheap Sunglasses, ZZ Top Is Back!

061025zztop   Most people when talking about "The Greatest" bands of all time, will almost always leave ZZ Top off the list.  Sad to say that even I make that mistake from time to time.  Then when in the car on the way home, a "Top" song will come on and I'll hit myself in the head like I could've had a V8.

It's hard to imagine a cooler straight forward rock band than ZZ Top.   In the eighties, no one had cooler videos than ZZ Top.   A friend of mine was in "Sharp dressed man".

The band hasn't done much since 2003 as a band.   But they are gearing up for a new album this year with a tour to follow, and they will be releasing a Live DVD set first.

Normally the oldschool bands dropping a new disk is a huge let down.  But since ZZ Top has always done one thing and one thing only, I have to imagine a new offering is going to rock yet again.
