DVD REVIEW: "ROCKET SCIENCE"

Rocketsciencenewposter Calling all Wes Anderson junkies! Are you a RUSHMORE fan? If so, then ROCKET SCIENCE is the movie for you.

This cleverly written dare I say "love story" evokes the neurotic chase your dream and face your fears type mentality that I'm sure we've all endured or would like too. Now granted, it's on a smaller scale on the grand scheme of life regarding dreams and fears, but for stuttering high schooler Hal Hefner, it's his biggest and most important step in his life. And for the viewer, you'll want to walk right along with him...

DVD REVIEW: "TRADE"

495poster Having missed this in the theaters, I was anxious as hell to watch it. Given all the films that dealt with the Mexico/U.S. border and the issues down there, this film seemed more so to pull my interest. TRADE deals with the ever growing problem of child trafficking, more specific from Mexico into the U.S. where kids are sold as sex slaves. This story is nothing new as child selling has been going on for years, but this movie really shows you the harsh and brutal reality of how something like this goes on...

DVD REVIEW: "KING OF CALIFORNIA"

King_of_california_ver3 Not since Wonder Boys have I been wanting to see a film that MICHAEL DOUGLAS has done, until now. In KING OF CALIFORNIA, Douglas comes back to rare form in his acting as in the likes of his performance back in 2000 in Wonder Boys. Eccentric and wacky characters serve Douglas best where he can really bring out his acting chops and carry a film, and his character in California gives him that opportunity to do just that.

DVD REVIEW" "THE GAME PLAN"

Gameplan THE GAME PLAN is another one of those movies that you just sit there watching with an open mouth and glossed over eyes while your mind wonders off thinking about that massage you got the other day. Then all of a sudden, the sexy and beautiful ROSALYNN SANCHEZ pops up on the scene and suddenly you're interested. Then minutes later she's off screen and you go back to that massage. Yes, this movie is a bore and an unfunny, uninteresting one at that!

DVD REVIEW: "DRAGON WARS: D-WAR"

Dragonwarsposter The only reason why I decided to watch this film was because a friend of mine worked on it. Having said that, DRAGON WARS: D-WAR was, well... not a good movie, not by any stretch of the imagination. If you have a thing for dragons or happen to have the mind of a child or you've indulged in some wacky tabaky, you might just have a fun time at it. If none of the above applies, just keeping moving down the video shelf cause you will kick yourself in the ass if you rent it. Continue

FILM REVIEW: "CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR"

Charliebig So yet another political film emerges, this time we go back to the 1980s Afghan/Soviet war in the comedy-drama CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR. Now, I'm not a big political movie fan, but I am a fan of MIKE NICHOLS, TOM HANKS, PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN and comedy-dramas. So if you put them all into one, you should have a good movie, and Charlie Wilson's War is just that! Continue

DVD REVIEW: "ONCE"

Once_press ONCE is not the definitive term used to describe how many times one should see this film!

If not for the soulful, heart engaging story, or the seemingly natural chemistry between the actors, then for the music that drives this beautiful and well orchestrated film. This lovely tale of two people who form this harmonious musical bond moves with such unison and perfection that it clearly makes its stand for one of the "best films of the year!"

FILM REVIEW: "JUNO"

Juno_ver2 As much as I was swimming in anticipation to see this film, seeing how everyone was saying this film was awesome, I walked away somewhat disappointed. In the likes of NAPOLEAN DYNAMITE or LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, which JUNO is being compared to, because of it's independent and possible cult like status, I failed to see the true resemblance one could make to these films, aside from it's quirky dialogue and eccentric characters, which is the essence of this film.

FILM REVIEW: "AVPR: ALIENS vs PREDATOR - REQUIEM"

Avprposter With no urgency to run out on opening weekend to see AVPR: ALIENS VS PREDATOR - REQUIEM, I still had that itch to check it out. I dug Predator, loved Aliens, thought AVP was cool, and had a momentary though that AVPR would be better than the first. Sadly, I was wrong!

FILM REVIEW: "SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET"

Stmovieposter Now, I'm not a big musical fan, cause quite frankly I don't care for the words to be sung, particulary by actors I don't care to watch. But once I heard that TIM BURTON and JOHNNY DEPP were doing one, I knew it was one I had to see, and damn I'm glad I did!
