Rumors Of 800p Are True!

Sure, maybe you were already confident in this rumor but I can tell you having just heard word from a VERY reliable source, Palm will be releasing the 800p this year, and Sprint will have it later in the year. Like Sprints 8830 the 800p looks to be an unlocked GSM/CDMA device allowing you wiggle room when outside of the US. Some of the other features look to include:

Sprint Treo World Phone with:
International GPS
International Data
Rev A speeds

These features cannot be substantiated at the moment, but they are the specs being floated around our sources eardrums. What is of no quandary for us is the emanate arrival of a new Palm device called the 800p and it's subsequent branding on Sprint. Stay tuned for more details.

Roger + Clemens = CASH!

I was just watching the Roger Clemens press conference on ESPN News (channel 207 for you Direc TV associates). Roger is the new mercenary/pitcher for
the Havs (New York Yankees). The appropriately named Yankees' General
Manager, Brian CASHman, bought Roger for 28 million a year. That's 4.5
million a month and $75,000 a pitch! Do you think a small market team like
the Kansas City Royals or the Minnesota Twins could've made this happen?
Noooooo. Side note: I like CASHman cuz he looks like a techie-nerd, but he
has betrayed us and lives vicariously through much larger Type A's.

Roger, selling his soul...again...begs the question: is baseball a sport
anymore?...or just a paradigm for society? You too can buy anything you
want and truly don't have to earn it. Alright! AND...it's OK with
everyone. I love how nobody is outraged anymore. We've all resigned to the
fact that we have no power. The key word is "resigned." Why is there no salary cap in baseball like other sports? Why do people cheer for De La Hoya? Why do people cheer for the Yankees? Because
everyone wants to be a winner and not have to put in the hard work and dedication. Justice is dead. So is music BTW. Cash is king.

Cool Your Jets There iPhone Guy!

Before we lose our collective minds here over the Apple iphone...
let's put down the Kool Aid and take a deep breathe and go through the checklist.
Here are my 10 things to consider before plopping down your rent check and
deifying Mr. Jobs:
1) It's Yahoo push email
2) I hear there is no vibration ring-mode. I guess I can be "that guy"
when my phones rings and interrupts some mildly clever movie Hollywood has
put out.
3) It can't be used as a phone-as-modem
4) There is no stylus
5) A non-replaceable battery
6) Security issues with an external SIM card
7) Safari-only browser.
8) No keyboard
9) No side loading for storage
10) Can't use the big-time apps I have grown accustomed to.

BONUS reason: It's on Cingular ONLY. Am I the only one whose Cingular bill
comes in Hyroglyphics?

I'm sure a much better version will come out shortly later...just like the
ipod. Just fight the urge, do yourself a favor, and see how the first
version takes shape. Then spend your rent check...or your kid's
tuition...or your Friday night gambling money.
