Retroactive Immunity For Everyone...In Bush's Telecom Spy Gate

You just gotta love those "get tough" democrats up there in the Senate. Millions of voters flocked to the polls in 06 because candidates said they were going to get in there and turn back the tide that Bush wiped democracy away with. So far they haven't done a single thing, not one single thing.

One of the main continuos Bush administration secrets that came to light was the fact that he was spying on millions of Americans without their knowledge. A clear violation of the law of the land. He did so with the quiet help of the telecom companies that you and I pay each month. A clear violation of trust.

Without any foreknowledge, the administration with the help of the then ruling Republican party pushed through immunity for all the telecom companies that took part. Quest, the one company that wouldn't go along, found it's CEO in jail soon after the company released it's decision, on unrelated charges.

An ammendment that would have held those telecom's accountable by removing the immunity was stopped in the Senate. Not because the democrats don't have enough of the majority to stop the Republicans from tow-the-line voting, no. Telecom companies that allowed the government to spy on your phone calls and personal information without your knowledge were given a stay of immunity with the help of 31 Democrats who were voted in to turn back these Constitutional violations by the Bush administration.

Here is the list of democrats that voted for spying.

Barack Obama who was present for the vote, voting against letting them off the hook.

When asked by peers who I think would be a good Democrat running mate, I answer with two people who are on this list. They are no longer on my list.

What not to do when collecting unemployment!!

A big thank you goes out to the German government, Chancellor Angela Merkel, Germany's elite GSG-9 anti-terrorist unit, and the Federal Crime Office for taking terrorism seriously and thwarting three young men that were intent on causing great damage to U.S interests in Germany. Two of the three men were German nationals, Fritz Martin G. 28 and Daniel Martin S.21 and the other was from Turkey, Adem Y. 28 as the three of them were trained in Pakistan by the Islamic Jihad Union. They were converts to Islam, and I must add radical Islam, that looked to do damage to the aforementioned U.S. interests such as Ramstein airbase, Frankfort International Airport, cafes, discos, and shopping areas that Americans would frequent. The men had received 12 containers of 35% hydrogen peroxide solution that can be combined with other materials to make explosives. But most interestingly enough, all three men with close ties to Al-Qaida "had no steady work and were collecting unemployment benefits while their main occupation was the plot." Wow, the first thing I would do would be to cut their benefits and next I would provide the techniques of "The Art of Persuasion" and no doubt they would be singing like Celine Dion. Instead of spending all day ploting destruction how about getting a job, I am pretty sure that the Islamic Jihad Union doesn't provide a base salary with a generous commission and a 401k. A very brutal and distinct message needs to be sent to terrorists, "not if, but when we catch you, prepare to be tortured and killed." The only way to handle a bully is to smack fire out of his or her ass! Just to be absolutely clear, I mean terrorists that have plotted or are caught in the act of plotting an attack in or on a country. If every country had clearly defined procedures regarding these imminent threats of mass violence, there would be a positive shift . As I mentioned in an earlier post, Saddam Hussein was an evil evil man that tortured and murder thousands of innocent people during his time in power in Iraq, but he kept his country in line and there weren't any insurgent bombings occuring. In Nasheville,TN yesterday night, a family coming home was accosted by an armed robber as they entered their house. The woman, Ronda Hill, her mother, and two year-old son, were not only surprised by the robber, but by their dogs that chased him and attacked him causing him to drop his gun. The no nonsense Ronda picked up the gun and let off a hot missile at the perp and as he got up and ran she discharged two more rounds. The perp is still on the loose or he may be lying dead in a field, now that would be sweet justice!

Judge Lifts Order On DC Madam!

It is so on now! How much would you bet that by Monday morning this is a huge story? --) A judge in the US district court in Washington, D.C. has lifted the temporary restraining order (TRO) preventing the so-called 'DC madam,' Deborah Jeane Palfrey, from selling or distributing the list of phone records from her escort business.

"The List in question is the Defendant's personal property," wrote judge Gladys Kessler, "and contains only a log of telephone numbers. It was neither seized by the Government when it searched the Defendant's residence in California, nor listed in the Indictment putting the Defendant on notice as to which items of her property were subject to forfeiture."

Kessler concluded that the government had not satisfied the requirements of the forfeiture statute that would enable them to make the "extraordinary step of freezing the property of an individual, not yet convicted of any crime, and barring her from giving away that property."

Palfrey told the Citizens for Legitimate Government that she was "very, very grateful" to Kessler for lifting the TRO.

Earlier this week, in an interview with the Vallejo Times, Palfrey said she would make the 46 pounds of Sprint phone records available to any member of the media, including bloggers.

"A couple dozen to 100 or so" of the 10,000 names listed in the records are high profile names, said Palfrey.

With the injunction lifted, it appears Palfrey can now "distribute the records en masse to as many responsible journalists, press, media, bloggers in this country," as she has promised---
