When Google announced that they were considering the idea of dropping search records after a year or two, I said way to go Google! Now that Google has officially announced that 18 months is the cut off point I say Hooray! But, and this goes for any search engine, if a web surfer is continually surfing through search engines, doesn't that mean there will always be records on that person? Exactly when does the clock start and end?

Search information will now be made anonymous after a year and a half, the company said in a letter addressed to a European Union privacy watchdog group, the Article 29 Data Protection Working Party, and posted on the company’s Web site.
