Yesterday, Morning Paper got from our very reliable source the word on a few unconfirmed rumors are true. One of which is very interesting. If you've been following stories from our source then you know the information has been spot on, each and everytime (give or take a few name changes).
We are told that Apple will be releasing a "scaled down version" of the iPhone and it is set to hit AT&T (presumably) by this Christmas. Our source also told us that the smaller iPhone will have a much lower price point. Other carriers such as Sprint are getting ready for the impact. Which would explain the push to get a lot of devices out there within the next few months. Devices such as the HTC TOUCH.
Our source says that the Touch will indeed resemble the iPhone and will be ready for wear in November. Industry Insiders are going off a Bears Streans report that the iPhone has only had regional impact not "nationwide" impact. But that's not stopping companies like T-Mobile and Verizon from stacking their decks in case of another iPhone fire storm.
We were also told that AT&T will be dropping their claim of fewest calls. The ad campaign shift is said to take place on the East Coast were it as been proven that Verizon beats AT&T in that claim.
Of course this is all rumor (for the moment), but given the track record of our source, we feel safe in reporting it. We still thought we should check a few things first, you know, just to be safer.
