As expected the release of Across the Universe has created a new flood of Beatle interest. Or is it just the same flood of the last few decades? John Tomko clued me to an interesting little piece. In advance of the film's release the Associated press asked a bunch of stars to pick their favorite Beatle songs. Unfortunately they didn't pick the most interesting stars, and the ones they did were a little soft in their choices. There were a few "Imagines" which is the politically correct choice though not a Beatle song. Surprisingly no on picked "Strawberry Fields", "Penny Lane" and "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", my three favorites. Currently that is. Because as the film's star Evan Rachel Wood says (and I paraphrase) favorite Beatles songs change with the times, the mood, and point in life you are. Or as another person once told me, if you have a favorite Beatle song you're not a real Beatle fan. Read the article.
Another shout-out...thanks dude.
