In any state in the U.S. or country around the world, operating a cellular phone while driving is a very dangerous task, even for the most seasoned driver. California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger has just signed legislation to restrict the usage of cell phones for any purpose to 16/17 year-old drivers, but gives hands-free usage for 18 year-olds. There are presently fifteen others states and D.C. that have this legislation in place and and additional dozen states that are considering the measure. This is legislation that should be in effect in all fifty states, nothing is more precious than the lives of our youth and the prevention of avoidable accidents is tantamount. The nationwide cell phone law is supposed to start Jan. 01, 2008 in which adults operating vehicles will need a hands free device, however, my sister-in-law in Livermore, Ca said that one of her best friends already received a ticket for the infraction.
