Is the iPhone making a Pro team like Palm play with a Nerf Football? According to Reuters, yes. iPhone sales have put a crimp in Palms step and a hole in Motorola's boat. The proposed cheaper Palm devices might be Palms only way to combat the iPhones game plan.
But does that mean we could see further delays in the high powered devices that are said to run Linux? It could. If palm sees a up-tick in sales due to new cheaper devices they may decided to wage war in the lower price tier arena.
---Palm said in June it expected the touch-screen iPhone to temporarily slow Treo demand, and Oppenheimer analyst Lawrence Harris said Apple's price cut could exacerbate this.
"It has the potential to take away from Treo sales," Harris said, adding that the move could make the low end of the handset market increasingly important for Palm.
"I think that's why you're going to see additional emphasis on cheaper models like the Centro," he said, referring to a phone Palm is expected to release in coming weeks for $99.---Reuters
Wait, I'm confused... I thought Microsoft mortally wounded Palm years ago...

I thought that Palm killed itself years ago ... This company did not invent anything new since years.
