Didn't want to leave our readers out of the loop on this one.
Mobility Site and Engadget Mobile are both reporting AT&T are debuting their new phones on October 1st. No, I mean it. According to their sources, the phones will be in stock, READY FOR SALE on October 1st.
With the 1st not too far away, we can only hope and wait to see what will happen but, according to their sources, it will happen.
Regular readers know I've spent my time at the altar of HTC worshiping the Kaiser (rumored to be renamed the Tilt for AT&T) but have since left the faith for the HP iPAQ 910. And I must admit to being intrigued by the Q9 enough to put it on my very short list since I do plan on making a new phone purchase soon.
But the Kaiser/Tilt has fallen off that list. Why? Mainly I have grown very accustomed to and find I prefer a QWERTY keyboard as I've been using on my unlocked Dash.
Being a former Palm and Pocket PC user, the idea of going back to a touch screen (and requisite stylus) after getting used to (and liking) a keyboard is something I am not looking forward to having to do. The speed and ease of typing with my thumbs for entering calendar, tasks, notes, contacts, text messages and email has made me a believer as much as any Crack Blackberry / Treo user.
I was content to pine away in loneliness as HP got their device ready for my consumption. Now, however, I remembered the Q9 and am waiting for AT&T to let me take one for a test drive in the next couple weeks. Who will win? Who knows, but it sure is great to have such choice with Windows Mobile 6 devices.
