Illegal immigration is hot topic these days. The federal government, in the form of the Congress and the President, can't seem to agree what to do. That is evident by the variety of positions George Bush has held, and the divisions within each respective party. Oklahoma recently took matters into its own hands and the state legislature passed, and the governor signed, a highly controversial new law. It essentially took onto itself powers to control illegal immigration that had to this point been considered the power of the federal government.
There is sure to be litigation so we'll see where the Oklahoma move winds up down the road. But one element of the discussion that is rarely discussed, is the impact on the environment by the massive number of people flooding across our borders.
This video is being widely distributed in large part through the aid of environmental groups, like Wild Earth. It attempts to avoid the histrionic emotional reaction on both sides of the issue by looking at it logically through the impact in terms of numbers. It is referred to as Immigration Gumballs.
