Man were you stoked when you were walking out of Wal-Mart with your $100 HD-DVD player. For the first time in your life you were in sync with the times, not 3 years late, after the prices had come down to a reasonable level. The family was so proud of you.
And then Toshiba caved and now your shiny new player sits there mocking you with a constant "feed me".
Well you can't feed it because no one is making the food with the nutrients it needs. You got hosed.
Well it looks like Wal-Mrt and Best Buy is being quite magnanimous and is giving you a way to silence those voices in your head.
Wal-Mart will refund the price of the player if purchased after Nov. 1st, as long as you have the receipt and get it in by April 30th.
Best Buy will give you a $50 gift card if you purchased before Feb. 23rd, and you can keep your crappy new player.
This sounds to me like both companies had tons and tons of angry shoppers.
Go get your money back.
