Of course she's never done drugs in her life and she know's that she is innocent and, and Bunnies lay eggs and Santa is a dealer.

But since she's completely innocent, she is retiring from Tennis. "The reason I have come out with this is because I do not want to have a fight with anti-doping authorities," says Hingis. "Because of my age and my health problems I have also decided to retire from professional tennis."

In Gainesville, Fla, a would be robber/home invader, Cevaughn Curtis attempted to strong arm his way into the home of 75 year-old retired taxi dispatcher, Arthur Williams. Normally this would be upsetting enough, but there is a twist, Williams who is legally blind, shot Curtis in the neck as he kicked in the door. Curtis has been charged with burglary of an occupied residence and battery on a person over the age of 65, and presently he is in stable condition. Serves him right for preying on the elderly, or anyone for that case.

Did Steve Ballmer out the AT&T BlackJack II?

In a strangely worded press release, AT&T took the veil off the short rumored but expected announcement of the Samsung Black Jack II.

AT&T Inc. and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) today announced the availability later this year of the BlackJack II™ ^... The BlackJack II had its first public showing today during a keynote address by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2007 in San Francisco.

We here at Morning Paper and other sites have been talking about the Samsung Black Jack II for awhile now so this really isn't a surprise. What caught my attention was how the whole thing was worded:

• 1. No specific release date
• 2. No AT&T or Samsung exec waiving it around for the media.

Usually carriers will neither confirm nor deny what is usually well known fact on the Internet about the availability of new devices through a variety of means. Pictures get "leaked", the FCC spills the beans or some hard working employees with a cell phone camera snaps some pics of a new shipment. Whatever, we know long before the official "announcement" is made.

But it seems when the head of a major corporation is showing off your new device, it is hard to stay mum about it anymore. You've got to say something.

Was this planned? Or did Steve Ballmer miss the memo about keeping this thing under wraps until AT&T / Samsung were ready?

Just a thought.

Police Can No Longer Visit Brothels

This is one of those stories that really shine a "light" on some of the few remaining differences between America and other countries. The Police the patrol ing Belgian's Red Light district have been ordered to stop visiting with ladies in the store fronts and drinking in the surrounding bars.

---"These officers think their duty hours are to be used to drink alcohol in bars, practice sports..., visit brothels or massage parlours, and entertain (intimate) relationships with residents of the neighbourhood during their patrol," said the letter from a local police chief.

"It is only by setting a good example that the police can make itself respected," the letter said, urging officers to adopt more conservative behaviour.---

Can you imagine American officers getting caught in a place like this? DONE.

The Belgian Red Light District is pretty tame compared to Amsterdam (I checked out both). Oddly, in Belgum I don't remember ever seeing a cop. Now I know why.

Yesterday we told you about the "Member" found on the digital clock of a few Motorola phones. Today Motorola wants to sent the record straight.

In the real world anybody that pleads guilty is guilty, and for someone who studies the laws, makes the laws and enforces the laws, such as a Senator, they should know the Law.

Any Politician worth his weight in kick backs knows there is no such thing as a cover up when it comes to scandals involving sex. Those always make it to the surface. Sex and racism always come back to haunt a Politician one way or another. The fact that this man pleaded guilty, 3 months after the charge speaks soundly to his knowledge of the law and it's possible repercussion. He had plenty of time to think and research his decision. He had plenty of time to seek private counsel with client-attorney privacy laws that would have protected him. This man is a Senator of the United States.
