Scandal at the Vatican !!!

At Vatican City, Italy, "The Vatican said Saturday it has suspended a monsignor, Tommaso Stencio, from a senior post at the Holy See after an Italian TV program using a hidden camera recorded him making advances to a young man and asserting that gay sex was not sinful." Also, the "Milan daily Corriere della Sera had previously reported that a young man had contacted La7 and said he had been in contact with several priests on chat lines popular with gay men. Corriere said La7 then filmed the encounters between the man and the priests with a hidden camera." If you have chosen to become a Catholic priest and choose to follow all of the tenets of that religion, then do so. If you want to go in another direction, that is also your God given right, but don't be a false representative because you will end up doing more harm than good. I will stop at that. Read

AT&T: Sorry, We Take It Back! Changes In "Terms Of Service Agreement"

It's weird, this makes one feel like he won something. Like a great disservice has been righted, the little guy/gal won. After much criticism by tons of bloggers, yours truly included, AT&T tells Ars Technica that it is reversing its earlier stated "Terms of Service" which as we all know by now stated, talk bad about us and your history.

They can spin it any way they want, but that's exactly what it meant. Had it not been challenged AT&T would have acted on it and you better believe it.

---"We are revising the terms of service to clarify our intent, and the language in question will be revised to reflect AT&T's respect for our customers' right to express opinions and concerns over any matter they wish," the spokesperson told Ars. "We will also make clear that we do not terminate service because a customer expresses their opinion about AT&T." "We have never and will never terminate a customer's service for criticizing AT&T," the spokesperson promised.---

A very key and telling bit of wording comes form a spokesperson who says "we were told that revisions were planned once the company could see how customers were reacting."

Like I said, if they could have gotten away with it, they would have.

SanDisk Spokeswoman: I Will Shave My Head If The Zune Beats Us!

I think certain women go beyond sexy with a shaved head, it's a part of my Punk roots. She won't be one of them. Not trying to be mean, but you can see if a woman would be able to pull off a shaved head. Carm Lyman? Nope. So she better win if the challenge is excepted by Microsofts President, Robbie Bach. The gauntlet has been thrown down, if the Zune knocks SanDisk off it's #2 spot over the holiday sale-a-thon, the loser will have to shave their head.

There are of course a few conditions. Microsoft can't buy SanDisk and or their line-up changes. Okay, there's a lot of numbers and stats with this story that amount to a bunch of blah blah blah. What's important to note here is that two companies are willing to have a public, potentially humiliating spat over the number "2" spot. Who does that?

Meet Technology! Interpol Unscrambles Digital Photo Of Pedophile

This is where movie technology meets real technology, very cool stuff here. 12 boys ranging from 6 to early teens, have had over 200 photos of them posted on the internet by a man who travels the world molesting and photographing young boys. Until now authorities have been unable to finger the guy because of his photoshopped scrambled face.

But interpol has something for him, his face, unscrambled. Note to the a#*hole! You're going to jail! Interpol has received over 200 messages since they released the unscrambled photo of the child molester.

---Using techniques that neither they nor Interpol would discuss, German police produced identifiable images of the man from the original pictures. The reconstructed photos showed a white man who looked to be in his 30s, with uncombed short brown hair. One showed him wearing glasses, in another he smiled, and another showed that he has a hairy chest. Interpol posted the images on its Web site.---

Authorities are unwilling to discuss how and the technology used to unmask the criminal because they don't want to tip off any other idiot out there. Sometimes I feel like technology is far too intrusive, but this isn't one of them. Good job guys!

GooglePhone: It's An OS Not A Phone--Told You

HA! The GooglePhone has a lot of folks on "EDGE" wondering if their purchase is going to run over by a device made by Google. Yours truly said a while back that it didn't seem plausible given the fact that Google is working with Apple on the iPhone. Then a Digitimes said that there is definately a "device" in th works. That further pushed the anticipation along, and made yours truly stand back a bit.

Now the International Herald Tribune says that Google is "not creating a gadget to rival the iPhone, but rather creating software that will be an alternative to Windows Mobile from Microsoft."

Exactly! It only makes sense. Google does not like Microsoft. A single device would be a problem for Apple, not Microsoft. But an OS, an OS that can go on any handset could be a big issue for Microsoft seeing as how the Vista company has its OS on so many devices. A lot of folks want some of these devices, but not WM 6.

The GooglePhone story just got interesting again.

Sprint's funny business...A.G. of Minn. not laughing!!

Generally speaking, most cell phone carriers don't have the best of reputations and sometimes picking one is akin to picking a Presidential candidate, a lesser of two idiots/evils/liars. But, when you get the attention of a government official, you might have some splanin' to do Lucy! Minnesota Atttorney General Lori Swanson has accused the SprintNextel corp. of extending customer contracts without the consent of those customers as hundreds of complaints from Minnesota residents have flooded her office. "The company has used hidden trip wires to trap unwary consumers into lengthy contracts simply because they made small changes in their plan." Sprint's legal counsel are reviewing the points of the lawsuit and there will be a lot of communication between the two parties, interesting. Read

If it does, take it back to the store, it's got plastic bits in it. While you're on your way there, think about "Cheddar Cheese" and Bits O "Bacon" lasting in a metal can until the July 09. I think you're better off taking that can back anyway.

No More Mouse Phone: Disney Mobile Go Bye-Bye

Who do I blame here, Mickey, Goofey, Donald? Minnie, that's it, everyone knows female mice talk a lot on the phone, running up bills and tying up the line so that no one else can get through. Or maybe no one wanted anything to do with Disney mobile. That would be the simple answer right?

Not sure what phone toting tots are going to do but they won't be calling Minnie or anyone else as of December 31st 07, when Disney pulls the plug. Anyone subscribing to the service now will get to take their number and leave Toon Town for or say, the evil Empire (AT&T). Kids want iPhones too!

Michael Vick: Smokin The Chronic Under House Arrest

So much for getting the Jesus crowd behind him. Or maybe they will get behind him, way behind him. The star NFL QB has just nailed another 16' framing nail into his coffen by getting caught with marijuana in his blood system. Now really, he could have finished off a blunt by himself a month ago and it would still show up. But the fact that he has to undergo drug testing and he failed, will not help him in his attempt to sway public opinion.

It can't do much to help is plight with the NFL either, although I'm sure the Falcons really wish he was there right about now, blunt or no blunt.

The self described dog killer will now have to undergo tougher drug and alcohol test, participate in substance abuse therapy and seek mental health counseling on his own dime.

The electronically monitored QB must be in the house between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m, which leaves plenty of time to score....in a game of pick up I mean.

Seems like Vick should be doing everything he can to turn himself into a church mouse right now, but if you will indulge me, number 7 just threw a interception and it's almost like he did it on purpose, he had to know that defender would be there. Read

The Navy's SWASTIKA Building

Sure this may be old news, but that doesn't make it any less good! Or GREAT! Here's the thing i don't understand about this building constructed in the 1960s. After the architect draws the building, a model maker builds a small scale version. But even at the drawing level all sides are rendered, even a top view. How this passed muster is beyond me, how no one saw that this was without a doubt a large scale SWASTIKA is beyond me, and to say it's mistake and not done on purpose means that they people who built it and okayed it are absolutely stupid. All of them must have a I.Q. of 38.

Can you actually believe that they didn't know this was a SWASTIKA? Come on. Yes I am saying they let this one go. Yes I am saying that everyone involved knew damn good and well that they designed and were going to construct a large scale SWASTIKA. Now with Google Earth, everyone can see it and now they have to do something about it. But to try and pass it off as an oversight that was too late to change adds insult to injury.

The Navy is going to spend $600,000 to cover up one of the "L's". I'm sorry, but I think that's weak. Tear it down, this was done on puirpose. This is in my state, you can say a lot about California, but I don't want "they've got a giant SWASTIKA" to be one of them.
