This is strictly Windows and UMPC so it's not my bag baby, but I know that there are a great number of folks out there that spend many sleepless nights wonder when that perfect tiny PC will come along a take them away from all this.

You know what happens when you make a fool out of someone in April? You get an overwhelming response and you have to manufacture your joke.
This is the case with the Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt, which was an April Fools day joke over at Think Geek. The joke was this new T-Shirt that would be the background music to your life. Turning your everyday trips to the toilet into an epic battle between good and the bad that's about to come out of you.
Well the jokes on them. The response was so overwhelming that they have decided to make it and sell it for real. Which really means the joke is still on us.

Now this is the real deal! A waterbed! When was the last time you slept on a waterbed? For me it was about fifteen years ago. One of our cats punctered it and that was the end of that, but I do miss having the waterbed.
But ours wasn't as cool as this one. The Akva Waterbeds' Sound bed has a sound system built in it. Yes that's right, a sound system built right into the soothing motion of a waterbed. Now that's pimp.
I don't care who you are or what you look like, if you have a warm soothing waterbed that can pump out some Barry White, you will be very busy.

If you own Motorola stock, you probably already know this. C|Net is reporting that the phone maker giant has decided to split into two publicly traded companies, one handling
handsets and accessories and the other taking on wireless broadband
networks and enterprise-level communications services.
"Our decision to separate our Mobile Devices and Broadband &
Mobility Solutions businesses follows a review process undertaken by
our management team and Board of Directors, together with independent
advisers," CEO Greg Brown said in a release. "Creating two
industry-leading companies will provide improved flexibility, more
tailored capital structures, and increased management focus--as well as
more targeted investment opportunities for our shareholders."
I would like to believe this is a good move for consumers, since it will allow the two companies to place more focus on their relative specialties, which will hopefully result in better products and services for all of us.
The Washington Post is reporting that the Number 3 US auto maker will have a WiFi-enabled car in their upcoming line of new vehicles sometime during this year. This sounds awesome, since most high-end smartphones these days come equipped with WiFi, with the unfortunate exception of Treos :-(
"The feature will be added to existing vehicles by dealers beginning this year and later be installed on the assembly line, said Frank Klegon, Chrysler's product development chief.
The technology will allow passengers to search Web pages using signals from mobile phone towers. Consumers initially would need a subscription to a wireless phone carrier to ensure uninterrupted coverage.
"We want to make the radio itself a WiFi port," Klegon said."

I still like the new Sandisk Sansa Fuze, but it's not on this list. I would assume it's still too new to have been reviewed.
If you're not familiar, the Celio Redfly Mobile Companion is a UMPC-sized companion for your Windows Mobile device. Basically, it provides a way to easily give your small phone screen an instant-on larger display, full keyboard and mouse pointer. It does not have its own processor, as it uses the phone and connects to your phone via USB or Bluetooth. You can, however utilize one of the 2 USB ports to plug in a flash drive and utilize it as external memory.
As we all heard several months ago, Palm attempted the very same device, under the name of Foleo, but its initial launch failed.
jkOnTheRun has posted a great hand's-on demo of the Redfly. Rumors are that it will be shipped at around $500, which seems a bit expensive to me.

Strike up the band and do the Chattanooga Choo Choo, The HTC shift finally makes it to American shores. And Sprint's got the luck of the Irish, because Sprints gets to sell the EVDO 3G running UMPC first.
How lucky can Sprint be? They get to be first out of the gate to try and sell a $1, 500 device with a $60 a month 3G add on in a time were gas is about to hit $4, and pinks slips are being handed out like confetti.
But it's not really important if the thing sells like hotcakes is it? It's just all about the Shift finally making it to America. We don't like to be last.
